In the failure of 2001, envelopes carrying deadly anthrax were delivered to US Senate offices, reticulated news divisions, and a tabloid newspaper. Five people were killed, many again infected, and the nation was terrorized. Seven years later, afterward mistakenly pursuing one suspect, one of the greatest part expensive and complex investigations ever undertaken by the FBI ended when they identified Army scientist Dr. Bruce Ivins being of the cl~s who the sole perpetrator of the attacks - in relation to Ivins had taken his own life. Now, starting a~ questions are being raised about the FBI's investigative methods and whether Ivins in reality did it. FRONTLINE, in a co-extension with ProPublica, and McClatchy Newspapers, takes a stormy look at the FBI's sifting of the country's most well-known act of bioterrorism.
